Time Out

There has been a lot of general conversation about "Trash Mileage" of late. Trash mileage is normally defined as running for the sake of it, mileage run that is not beneficial, running in the belief more miles means you become a better, faster runner.

I have had two quality runs in the past few days, one a progressive trail run (15 miles) and two days later a fast tempo run (11 miles). Even though the total distance (26 miles) of the runs is less than I have had recently there was indeed some real quality.

All day today I have felt a little achy in the my thighs that was sufficient to make me decide that going for a run this evening would be asking for an injury although I was desperate for one but would rather pull out one evening to allow me a quality run on Friday evening.
