Mr Unpopular

As this blog is titled I do like to report on my Trials and Tribulations especially if connected with running and tonight was no different.

I had left my shoes on the side after the Moonlight Challenge and hadn't quite taken into account the amount of mud that was covering them and was now receiving complaints from Mrs S about the state of them. I decided that there was only one thing to do and that was to wash them off in the utility room sink and pored some water into the sink and started to scrub away.

I was slightly amazed to find under two lumps of mud there were a pair of running shoes and they indeed look very clean, that said there was a rather brown sludge in the sink but like an idiot pulled the plug.......

....and there the water remained, not budging an inch. I thought to myself "No problems, I'll get the sink plunger" but I can't find it so now I have a few hardened stares from Mrs S across the living room a blocked sink but beautifully clean running shoes!

  1. I know exactly what you mean. I got told off for cleaning trainers in the sink, so decided to clean them in the bath, still makes a mess and again, not unreasonably, I got told off. Now I clean my trainers outside in the cold and all is well. Got to say that I hate putting on dirty trainers so much nicer to put on a nice clean pair.

  2. I am now back in the good books as I have nipped out and got a new sink plunger. That sink has never worked so well, I am sure the mud was the straw that broke the camel's back!

  3. Love the kitties in the sink!

I use the backyard hose on 'em. The shoes, not the cats.

  4. I wish I had never bought the plunger now...after unblocking the sink I decided to have a go at the shower whose flow was always slow. Plunge, plunge , plosh, all is well as the water now flows freely.
I went to the kitchen downstairs to find that there was brown water all over the wall and work surfaces....I had broken the down flow pipe! I am so mad as it is going to cost a bomb to get it repaired....gggrrrrr
