The love affair is over

Whilst expecting to get a few blisters and rubs along the way from my shoes on the Grand Union Canal I have finally realised that my current shoes (and socks) are not the way forward if I want to carry on with long distance running.

The blistering on my inner heels were horrendous at the weekend and so it is goodbye to Mizuno Waveriders, I am now in the market for new brand....watch this space

  2. I just had a DNF at Comrades because I ended up with a fractured toe. I'm investigating my shoes as well. No blisters though.

  3. Johann, that is gutting to think of all the training miles you put in and then something like that happens. Get well soon

  4. Jerry - How about some Brooks trainers. I find them slightly less cushioned/firmer in the forefoot than a lot of other makes which may mean I am getting a bit of the foot strengthening assocciated with less cushioned/minimal shoes withoug wearing minimal shoes. Think that makes sense!

  5. Jerry--thanks for stopping by and leaving the link on my Mizuno shoe review. I am also testing a pair of shoes from The North Face and they are incredible! I am going on my first long run with them tomorrow. Will post a report on my blog once I get a feel for them.

  6. No Problems, my first ever pair of trail shoes I used were some North Face Hedgehog XCR so will be interested to see what you think of your test pair. See if you can cover the midsole protection and toe box if possible.
